Guardian Carpet Protector and Fortifier gives you exceptional oil, water and even alcohol repellency.
Guardian’s qualities keep oil and water-based liquid spills from soaking into the carpet and wetting the fibers. This makes spills easier to get before they drop down into the backing. This also provides a great benefit with dry abrasive soils that scratch and damage the carpet as they are more efficiently released during routine vacuuming.
Guardian is of such a high quality that it can even be used on sensitive NuBuck and suede leather with little to no effect on their appearance. Guardian meets all VOC regulations and comes unscented and scented with ProFresh.
Guardian can be mixed two ways either for maximum performance or for economy. When Guardian lowers the surface energy of the carpet or fabric Guardian creates a barrier and makes the material much harder to wet. This process simply put also prevents wicking. You will also notice that when maintenance cleaning or extraction cleaning time comes around your job will be much easier.
Guardian should be mixed at 1 part protector to 3 parts water for maximum performance. Each ready to use gallon (4 total per gallon of concentrate) will cover 200 to 400 square feet of wet carpet and from 275 to 475 square feet of dry carpet. This means that 1 gallon of concentrate will cover from 800 to 1600 feet on wet carpet and up to 1900 feet on dry carpet!
When mixed at the economy dilution you will use 1 part Guardian with 4 parts of water to make 5 RTU gallons. The above applications will still apply but now your coverage goes from 1000 to 2000 feet on wet carpet and up to 2375 on dry carpet from each gallon of concentrate.
Your average cost per foot will vary on the above dilutions and application suggestions from 1.7 cents pert foot in economy dilution on dry carpet to 2.6 cents per foot on wet carpet. Either way, your return on investment is outstanding. Combine this with a choice of a scented or unscented water based formula that is sprayer friendly and a premium based high solids protector and fortifier at a fair price and you have a real value.
When image and reputation are important to you, you owe it to yourself to buy Guardian Carpet Protector and Fortifier.

Some things to know

When I apply Guardian, I go by time. My sprayer with 60psi and a #11002 tip takes 3:50 seconds to spray one gallon of protector. After I know the square footage of the area I am going to cover, I find it easier to use my watch timer than to keep looking at the fluid level of my sprayer. For example, to cover 1,000 feet I will run my sprayer for about 9 1/2 minutes. This is assuming I am on wet carpet at a coverage rate of 400 s.f. per gallon. This is also convenient if you have a sprayer that is not opaque or if you are using a back-pack sprayer.
Take your sprayer and fill it with water. Measure out 400 square feet on something like a stone driveway. This makes it very easy to see the wet and dry areas. With the #11002 tip, you will spray in a two stroke left to right pass and then overlap. If you are not spraying your shoe, then you have the spray tip the correct height from the carpet. This will give you good practice to see your application technique and to help you get the timing of your strokes down as well as the correct amount of protector down for the area you are covering.
The # 2 tip increase the size of the droplet and reduces the amount in the air. This reduces the strength of the scent and is also safer for the technician as a mist is less or unlikely to be misted into the air to be breathed in. Remember there is a difference between smelling the scent of something and breathing in the actual chemical due to a mist. When properly applied in most cases grooming should not be required. However if the situation is more delicate or the carpet is very thick or plush grooming may be desirable as it will distribute Guardian more evenly.
